Gavin is an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology.

Gavin has a thorough, sensitive and collaborative approach, working with vets and their owners, managing pets with heart disease. He has over 20 years of clinical cardiology experience supporting vets in primary practice, emergency, university and referral settings.

Gavin has a particularly interests in myxomatous mitral valve disease, (MMVD or DMVD). Myxomatous mitral valve disease is the most common heart disease in dogs. MMVD is usually slowly progressive and may be relatively benign in some dogs. Many vets are happy to mange dogs with MMVD but some cases can be more challenging and we can help with these.

There are a variety of medical and surgical treatment options available for managing MMVD.
