Our CPD meetings offer an easy way to update your cardiology skills and catch up with colleagues. Our Winter 2026 meetings are held at Brighton and Hove Golf Club starting 7pm for 7.30. A bar and light refreshments are available. Meetings are free but places are limited. Please use the get in touch form if you are a vet or nurse and would like to attend one of our CPD meetings.

Management of Mitral Valve Disease BSAVA Regions

Holiday Inn Brighton Seafront, Brighton

This regional BSAVA evening meeting will cover the management of canine myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD), the heart disease probably encountered most frequently by small animal clinicians. The course will review the diagnosis and staging of MMVD. 

Gavin will look at some challenges encountered when staging MMVD and consider what is a reasonable clinical approach. Lastly we will discuss management options, covering standard therapy as well as some exciting emerging medical and surgical treatments.

We can offer in house CPD for veterinary practices covering a range of topics that can be tailored to your teams needs.

In house CPD topics include:

  • Set up basic and advanced echocardiography training

  • Training in emergency focused echocardiography

  • Getting the most from your clinical examination

  • Triage training from nurses and receptionsists

  • Cardio-vascular theraputics

  • ECG interpretation
